I do not know how I missed this the first time you posted, but I will add anyway. Eastwood (the primo restoration supplier) sells SEM. That seals it for me. Use TSP (a bubble free soap stuff) to scrub the heck out of the parts several times and used whatever they suggest for cleaner/adhesion promoter. Armor All residue will ruin your day,

I used Krylon Vinyl dye on an airbag, and "temporarily" dyed the carpet on some door panels 25+ years ago with a parts store brand dye. The kick panels are still as dark as the new floor carpet, and the Krylon lasted longer than the rest of the Ford did in a MASSIVE hail storm.
Anyway, it's all about the prep work.

Let's see the results,please.

Thanks man. The other pedal pad and carpet came today but my next few "weekend's" (I have Sundays and Mondays off ) are booked so it'll be a few weeks before I tear into it. I'm hoping for some good weather soon and I think I'm gonna wait until I can get together w Dad so we can hangout and do all the stuff together (it used to be his). He's recently retired so his schedules open, I'm just waiting on my crappy one to clear up. I'll be sure to get some pics. I need to take some "before" pics I guess maybe I can squeeze that in. Maybe I can scrounge up a pic of er when she was new. The exterior at least maybe. But anyway thanks for the tips man. The interior's really not in too bad a shape, especially in the rear. I'm gonna give the console a good scrubbing when it's out. It might not need much as far as painting goes. I'm keeping the original color scheme as far as all the plastic stuff goes. The only things that are going to be different than how it came oem is the carpet and the seats. However one thing for sure on the "to do list" is clean up and paint the floor pans w some sort of rust proofer. I'm praying for no rust present, maybe I'll get lucky.

I guess they're some sort of "middle man" and they don't have a warehouse or anything like that they just buy from vendors and have the vendors send them to you? The pedal pads came from two different places, one came what looks like a parts store in Fort Worth (I could've driven there..) and the other from CA. Their website kinda stinks and you have to pay shipping but I did come out ahead buying through them vs the Mustang specific vendors.

Ok fellas stay tuned. I made a date for the end of the month to get w the old man so we can play cars together. I'm hoping to get quite a bit done. I got the "go ahead" funds from the wife to have the seats redone so I think I'm gonna throw em in the back of the folks truck and drop em off at the shop the same weekend. Two birds, one stone. Hella progress coming soon. I hope..
Oh and the new carpet is sitting on a table and is really starting to take shape. It's thicker than elephant skin though so I'm thinking the trimming and cutting the holes might be a bit of a mofo.

I'm so glad my car didn't have an interior like that. Two owners, one family, service records going back to when it was new.

The seats aren't that bad. It's just the 20 yrs of coke and coffe being spilled due to the jinky cup holder.

New used drivtbelt installed. E-bay- set of four $119. Fair enough I guess. I also stopped in on the upholsterer (a transgender middle-aged Hispanic individual named "Gloria" but goes by "Glo") to see how things were going. I'm glad I did because he/she said that he/she couldn't get the fabric that I originally chose for the cloth middle section so I had to choose another. I ended up going with something a little more "flashy" than the plain gray I had originally chosen. I think it'll be alright though, not too "Pimp My Ride" esq. But anyway they say they'll have them ready on Saturday around noon. I hope so, Dad and I had planned to get together on Sunday to do the carpet anyway. So if the seats are ready maybe we can get er done and call it a finished project.

Im starting to think leather seats with cloth center sections is the answer. With the top down leather can get hot and etc...

That should look really nice Mike,

Well here it is: Most of it anyway. The back seats weren't ready and I'm kinda glad they weren't. I'm worn out as it is. Dad and I started working around 10am ish Sunday morning and between the work and Meal breaks, and beer brakes, we called it a nite around midnite when we got the seat tracks on. We got up this morning and got the front seats in. The seats aren't perfect but not bad. They're nice and supportive again but I might not recommed them for the big boys. The floor pans were in pretty good shape. there were a couple spots w some surface rust and I cleaned em up. Don't think I took any pics of the "cleaned up pans." Anyway here she is, I'm just waiting on the back seats.
*Mikes Garage Tip of The Week*
Spray the bolt holes on the old carpet w pink paint while it's still in the car. That way you know where to cut the holes in the new carpet.
