ok so i just got a 95GT , she is clean so im realy happy , and the First day i got her i drove her from Sulphur springs ,TX to Tampa , FL (bout 1100 miles in less than 20 hours) and she drove like a champ no issue at all (other than a check engine light on for bout 12 seconds and then clears itself). She has had now problem as far as i can tell in accelerating when she is at speed (5th gear at 70 i can go to 100+ with no issue , BUT !

The problem is when i go to do a pull on her in almost every gear she will pull hard like she should, But once she hits 3,000 or 3500 RPM she stumbles and its almost like she has no power to give , she wont make it to the red line and after 3k its almost like a regular car slowly on the gas , What could this problem be ???

for history on the car she was on spray about 3 years back , the owner was pretty religous about the oil changes , sadly thats almost all he was relegious on. He has no clue when anything else was changed , she is at 171k miles but runs good , Let me know if you guys know what this could be (my friend has a 94 GT and he is all stock except for a cold air intake (witch mine also has) and his pulls alot more on the top end (ALOT). please help if you can and sorry for anything noob i might have said , this after all is my 1st mustang =)

Welcome to the boards!

Start with pulling codes. That should get you going in the right direction.

Good luck.

Similar issues I've had were solved by new plugs (ones in there were old Bosch plats), and cleaning the MAF (the filament wires were caked with dirt/grime).

Like HISSIN said, pull codes and check back in.

I had a similar issue a few months back with loss of power in upper rpm band. and a check engine light that would come on but go away frequently and i didnt pull any codes but i was told to take apart my MAF and get a q tip and some brake cleaner or degreaser and GENTLY clean the little metal sensors inside it.

Popped mine back in after cleaning it and had all the power back!

Hopefully it works for you!

Let us know!

No problem glad it worked out for you!

I would probably clean the MAF every 6-9 months if you do a lot of driving..just like i said be gentle on the wires.

Sound's good to me then! My car wont pull codes either and my check engine light will temp come on for 2-3 seconds every now and then.
