OH MY GOD.. i seen that.. said *wtf is he talk'n bout??* scrolled back up and procedded to spite pepsi on my keyboard... thanks.

Dragonz.. ill be needing that dollar back I paypal'd u for YOUR new keyboard..

ANYWAYS, to the original poster.. I drive a fox and would have it NO other way... but seriously. GET THE HONDA.

College life is filled with enough problems.. your car needs to be the last of them.

even IF the stang was as reliable... its maintence is still more expensive... you will get addicted to this site and the summit catalog.. your grades will drop and you will end up working at burger king.

if you drive the honda you will never think about modding it and you can put your mind to better things in college.. the things that matter yano? Homework, class.... beer, chicks.... naked chicks.. etc.

Mustangs and College parking lots do not mix. Stay away from the Mustang while you are in school... Who knows, one day you'll walk to your car and it will not be there.

Get an older (less new) honda Civic or other small car that comes with less of price tag. Trust me, you'll be spending all your money on booze and food anyway.

Well thanks for all the feedback, a lot more than I realized. But the deal on the civic fell threw so I am going to go test drive the mustang tomorrow and see what I think. And trust me at this point in my life I am very dedicated to my studies, and I was addicted to this site before too when I had the 6, though it was nothing that would impress any of you guys I am sure. But yea anyway I have been looking for an inexpensive honda for a while but I cant find anything that looks nice that would be reliable that hasnt already been riced out or beaten the hell out of for a decent price. So I guess I am going to test drive the Mustang tomorrow and hope for the best.

P.S.
The only thing I spend money on is keeping the POS jeep im driving now running and my rent. School is paid for thanks to scholarships and I dont drink, lol... Ill let you guys know tomorrow what happens with the GT.

I didnt drink as a freshman in college... but its fun now and then to let loose and have a couple .

Also school does take priority but the worry is what people on campus do to other peoples cars. My friends fox got keyed the other day and lots of people lose windows and radios! get a car your not going to worry about too much!

Hehe, I might have a drink now and then later on but my school is my priority. I dont think I would have a problem with vandalism parking on campus. There are much nicer cars there then a mustang. lol, but man that pisses me off that people have to do that. I see carss all the time that I wish I had and even cars of people that I dont like, but I believe you dont mess with peoples cars man. If you have a problem with someone you take it up with them.

Hondas are the most overpriced cars out there. Their good cars but their not that great. While a little 4 banger honda would be fun to run into the ground, I hate them about as much as I do Toyota. I seriously hope Toyota doesn't get a single win in nascar next year, and they go bankrupt.

ok well I just started college and I have a bit of money to get a much needed car now and I found a 95 Black Vert GT 5-speed, and an 05 civic lx now im kind of torn between two worlds. A part of me is saying get the civic its more reliable and another part is saying get the GT **** everything else. LOL but what im worried about is the reliability of the GT. Its got 118,000 on it and im scheduled to test drive it wednesday but my g/f is telling me its a bad idea to get a car that im going to have to fix because it might break down quick, and well getting an unbiased as possible answer, what do you guys think? Its going to stay stock because i cant afford anything buy maintenance on a car and I need a good reliable car. So yea what do you think?

our 86 5.0 5 speed. has over 230,000 on it. and its beat every time we drive it never left us ont he road and never broke. the only thing that we have had to replace so far is normal stuff. we replaced the water pump after 9 months ago.

all it comes down to is if it was cared for at first then it will last you.

plus there is tha fun factor ina 5.0 vert. :SNSign:

Well they would both be paid in full so im not really worried about the payment, just the reliability and having less headache.

we bought an 05 escape. 23,500 miles. and the tranny started shifting weird and very hard. then it had no gears what so ever.

we took it to ford and it has been 32 days since we took the car in. the part is on national back order. November 8th is the date it will be coming in. if were lucky we will get the escape back by November 10th maybe the 11th. but that all depends if the parts not defective and suck..

so all in all new cars can sometime be the pain..........

IMO

a 5.0 will run forever. i mean 85 ss coupe or whatever i think has over 250,000 miles on it and it runs really good.

go and drive the 5.0 if it rides smooth and runs strong then i think you should get that.

if you have a compression tester take it over and test the compression on all cylinders. pull a plug so if it has been running rich.

just tell the guy im interested buy i would like to do a compression test real quick. if you got over 125psi on all cylinders then i would get it.

A 95GT shouldnt run you more than $4-5k. An 05 civic is definately much more than that. Probably around $10k, right? I'd go w/ the cheaper, just as reliable, more fun, faster car, but thats just me.

Honda and Toyota make the best product out there, and it's not opinion which is why they hold their value.

Overpriced? I don't call a brand new 05 4Runner 240 hp w/a full frame and skid plates for $26,000 overpriced after pricing an oil leaking gas guzzling explorer that won't last me 5 years

Especially when the 4runner will still be there when my unborn children are old enough to drive.

PS: My 03 Ranger 3.0 I had left me stranded about an hour from home one day at 33k miles, and my 01 Mustang GT has already been back to Ford for window problems after only 30k miles
