95 Mustang GT help with tranny

Hey, my 95 GT's got 114k mi on it. It really needs a new transmission. My question is whether it is better to keep it an automatic and just put performance parts in it, or to switch it to a T-5. If you could help me out with that it would be great. Whichever one you guys suggest, could you also suggest the parts to go with them, please? Thanks.

Its a matter of personal taste. I like to throw my own. So, unless you are desperately seeking to shift gears I wouldn't bother with the conversion.

I would not consider a t5 an upgrade. If I was going to spend that kind of money for a t5 conversion I would just save it and buy a tremec tko or a t56.

I swapped from the AODE to T-5, love it. I drive it hard, just don't abuse it, it's lasted fine for about five years now. The tremec isn't a bad idea though, should only be a few hundred more if you swap it over. good luck.
