I have a 95 mustang gts and was wondering what type of rear end is in it. I know that the gt came with a 8.8" posi rear end, but when I spin the wheels only one wheel spins. Does this meen I have the 7.5" v6 rear end or it that just how the rear end is geard? Please help

you have an 8.8 and the one tire fire means your trac-loc needs some lovin care.

might as well do some gears at the same time. or if you are like me you will do gears, 31 spline diff/axle, carrier bearing studs, and a diff girdle.

I thought the posi only engaged the other wheel when the main one lost traction? Just curious, not doubting you.

And it's a Trac Lok - this is Ford's name and the name used for the rebuilt kits you buy.

Sometimes a simple gear oil change will fix the issue, but that's a crap shoot. Ben's advice is the sound way to go.

Good luck.

Yes, that does sound like the clutches are gone in your trac-loc. I'm pretty sure 50 resto sells the kit pretty cheap to rebuild it.
