ok i just bought a 95 that has been converted to carb. the computer is still in the car. the harness on the passenger side is disconnected. the big harness with the bolt and the smaller ones there as well. my question is that i want my speedo to work again. what wires or harness do i need for this and how is it done....

thanks in advance

The EEC doesn't drive the speedo. The wiring from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) splices off and goes to the EEC, cruise contol (speed control amplifier), and the instrument cluster. Specifically, it is a 'GREY w/BLACK tracer' wire that goes from the VSS through the trans connector (near the antenna in the engine compartment) (pin #15 - one pin away from a corner) - then splices to the EEC and to one of the 3 connectors that are right in front of the EEC connector. It's the one closest to the firewall (pin #7 in the corner of the connector). Then it spices to the instrument cluster and the cruise control.

If the circuit is complete and the speedo doesn't work, perhaps your speedo gear is bad in the VSS. If the VSS sending a good signal, then perhaps the EEC is needed in the circuit (to perhaps pull the circuit up or down), and then you might not get it working without the EEC installed...
