95 - steering advice

I've got some really loose steering in the center of the wheel which I am pretty sure is the rag joint.

Are there any modifications that can eliminate this problem? I know its fairly common. Is there a metal block that can go in there or possibly some stronger rubber?

Replace it with an MM or termi shaft

I'd just change the rag joint. They are like $6, and usually last for about 10 years.
