Found a great deal on a wrecked '95GT that i'll be using the suspension from to do a 5 lug conversion on my brother's 83 Mustang for. The driveline was supposed to be already sold but when I showed up I was able to strike a deal on it as well. I know the SN95 trans has a different length input shaft as well as bellhousing from a Fox 5.0 but I have all the parts from this SN95 car. My question is what driveshaft do I use? I had already bought a 5spd conversion from a donor '87 GT including the bell/trans/flywheel/driveshaft. Any ideas on which would be better to use? We were planning an A9L EFI conversion for the car so most of the engine pieces will be used already. Just looking for input on the trans issue.

If I were in your shoes, I'd use the Fox trans, bellhousing, and driveshaft. There's a lot more of those around if you need a new one, versus only two model years' worth of parts for the 94-95's. Otherwise, it should all be a pretty straightforward swap, and sounds like a fun project. Good luck!

Yeah, you might have to notch the floor a little. No big deal. Tin snips or an air grinder will do. The 5 lug swap and brake swap was the best updgrade I did to my 91. I love it, people love it.

Thanks for everybodys comments. Based on what everybodys saying i'll use the fox t-5 swap instead. StangGT1995 you brought up a really good point about availability in case I need to find a t-5 down the road. Jrichker thanks for the link. I've been reading his site as well as others on the 5-lug swap so I knew what I was diving into before I got in over my head. SVT32VDOHC Your '91 notch looks sick with the '96 Cobra rims. You just don't see those around! Can't wait to see your '81 in the next few stages. Thanks again everybody for your input.
