Hey man,

I noticed the job you did on your underbody a while a go...I was wondering if you could give some detail and maybe some pictures of what you did/how you did it.

anyone else that did some work like this please chime in also

and does anybody know how hard it is to drop the gas tank (I've got a bit of rust coming up in the trunk )

Sorry I didn't see this thread...I go to the "Talk" forum alot more often.

I'm pretty sure I made a thread about this in response to a few pm's I got about it back when I posted the project. I'll do a search and replace the pics that are missing

Well it appears I must have made that thread before the Stangnet Crash from hell, so I will have to do a writeup later...don't really have time to right now...check back later tonight or tomorrow sometime

I just posted a new thread covering the refinishing to make it easier for users to find using search in the future. Here's the link:

As far as dropping the gas tank, it's not that hard. You have to support the tank with a floor jack, undo the tank straps, remove the filler neck, then drop the tank down just low enough to undo the fuel lines from the tank (they make a special tool for this but I used a screw driver, pliers, and lots of cursing), then drop the tank the rest of the way. This will be a good time to change the fuel filter as it is a b**ch to get to with the tank in the way.
