replaced t-stat, replaced water pump...no leaks, no white smoke, test run was fine...next day overheated in the red in 5 miles. not sure if the fan turns on, will check tonight. any other things i could check? thanks.

The air outlet cap says..remove before radiator refill....but also says...install before engine start.. so how the H am I suppose to get the air out if car is not running? Thanks.

Search on V6 coolant refill procedures.

Start with the motor off. Open the engine vent value. Add coolant into the radiator until coolant comes out the engine vent.

Close the engine vent. Note, the motor is not running at this point.

Run the motor until at full operating temperature. Allow to cool.

Add coolant to the radiator and overflow tank.

It may take several heat/cool cycles for all of the air to get out.

DO NOT open the engine vent while to motor is running.
DO NOT open the engine vent while the motor is hot.

Also test run the heater. If the heater suddenly stops working, STOP. This is a sign there is air in the system.
