You can always consider a wrecking yard search for a 'vert and getting the springs from that. For shocks just get some Tokicos or Konis and be done with it.

I don't know if you want to go back to stock height (it's pretty high) or rather just don't want to be retardedly low as some people are wont to do. You might look into Eibach or Steeda lowering kits that include both springs and shocks as an engineered pair. Maximum Motorsports should be able to hook you up too.

You might have to consider looking at all the suspension bushings -- control arms front and rear, sway bar bushings and end-links etc -- along with an alignment when all is said and done.

The sound of the underside of my car grinding on road sucks. The car is a DD so I would like to raise the car near to the original height. You say the PO lowered it. What springs did they use or were they cut? I doubt you would like the OEM ride hight for long. Ford really goofed it up plus getting OEM springs back in is a major PITA.

If what your describing as grinding is the car scrapping the gound when your driving by hitting pots holes and such in the road then there is something is your not seeing.

Could be that the front A-arm bushings are toast, and I'm sure that would include the ball joints. Do yourself a favor and just buy some new A-arms. They come with the bushings and ball joints installed and they all you would need to do is remove the old ones and replace them with the new ones and then add in new struts.

Don't forget new sway bar bushings and end links.
