Quick question and a stupid one at that. I was able to get the headlight assembly out as well as the side markers but 1 issue came up on both sides. There was 1 of the pieces that hold the headlight in that did not budge with a plier and a little convincing. It's the upper inside mount on the headlight if that description makes any sense. I will get a picture up sooner to show what it is. I've tried a few methods on how to get it out but I can't without cutting it obviously. What is the correct way to remove this piece?

The part where I am pointing the screwdriver at is what I can't remove without cutting it off..

You should remove the whole housing. What are you working on?

It's a 96 Cobra. Still has the stock or had the stock housings in it. I tried with all I could to keep those pieces on it but it looks like they are just clipped over like most of the other plastic pieces on mustangs. These however would not turn loose behind the headlight panel.

I meant what are your trying to do with the headlights? Replace?

I'll be replacing them. The new pair has that piece on the housing and it looks like these should have come off with the original housing.

Looks like part of the headlight adjuster. If I remember right there's a little hole where that adjust clips onto the chassis and a pin from the adjust that clips into the hole. You have to move the pin as you slide the adjuster out. If I'm remembering this right.

Figured it out. I guess working on it at 9pm at night with less than stellar lighting wasn't the best. It was the metal clip portion I did not see the clip before and during the day today it was pretty obvious.
