Its been a very long time since I have posted, but I need a little help.. I had an alternator fire on my Cobra and it did very little damage. Completely destroyed the alternator and It melted a couple of vacuum lines (red / orange) and thats about it... I think.. In checking the alternator harness the three wire connection has a green, white and yellow wire. when i removed the tape to check for wire damage within the heat shield loom I noticed the white wire is not connect... it pulls out of the loom and has no visual damage from heat etc. it just looks like at some point it was trimmed and stripped and placed back in the loom.
according to the 94-98 haynes manual the wire colors don't match up and each of the 3 wires are connected. Has anybody looked at this harness before?
I trimmed back the loom and only the green and yellow wires are used, no white wire to reconnect to.
I have repaired the vacuum lines and have a new alternator installed ... just trying to investigate what the white wire may have been connected to.
thanks up front for any help...
