96 Cobra Missing Up Top

my 96 cobra is missing at 5k-6k rpm in 1st and 2nd gear for sure. i am going to pull plugs tomarrow and check that. plus i am gonig to see if my check engine light has any other code other then cat ineffective (no cats). any other ideas if those 2 things check out ok? any thing i can test?
the cars mods are off road h pipe, shifter, kann, and flowmasters

Yea, probably has to do with your plugs or wires. Could also be a old fuel filter, over oiled air filter etc...

Plugs are the first thing I would check, I just put a new set of NGK TR6 in last weekend and it made a nice difference.

ended up being spark plug gap. i they where gaped at .45 i took them down to .35 all is good now.

Your gap should not have to be that small something else is wrong.
