Hello, i'm new hear. I've had a cobra for 2 yrs. it has been in storage for about 6 monthes through the winter. I recently took it out and heard what sounded lilke a thumping noise coming from the back when driviing. I have no idea what it is as im kinda new to the mechanics stuff. I was just wondering if any has any ideas? thanx

Or it could just be the random cobra clunk, just slack in the drivetrain. Mine does it if i put it in first after being in a highway gear for awhile. But nothing seems to get hurt so i just let it go. Good luck, they are noisy cars by nature.

Can it also be heard if you are not rolling ? I had a similar problem 2 years ago and it ended up being the A/C dryer bottle hitting the firewall when the compressor clutch engages... Even though it came from the engine compartment, I could have sworn the sound came from my rear suspension / exhaust. Got a clue when I realized the thump went away when I turned the A/C off.

Just a wild guess :)
