I have a 96 mustang with a blown up 4.6L i wanted to know if i can drop a carburated 5.0 and will it bolt up to the bell housing and motor mounts im going to by pass all the computer controls then when i rebuild my 351 windser i want to put that in ther will the rear end hold up and were can i find these conversion kits thanks :spot:

you will need a new bellhousing and new motor mounts. the transmission you have has the modular style bellhousing pattern. personally i would never ever put in a dinosaur motor. yes the 4.6 is more expensive, but its a lot better built and designed motor. besides, i couldnt legally do it in my state because its illegal to put a carburator on anything made after 1996.

i also forgot, you need a new k-member. the exhaust will have to be modified as well. i think you will need a different hood, never swapped a 351 into a sn95 before. i just dont understand why someone would want to get rid of fuel injection. fuel injected cars are so much more reliable, they make lots more power, and the tuning for the average owner is a lot easier(plug in a SCT or hypertech). you are also going back to a motor with a distributer :barf: you should really consider getting a 99+ 4.6 or else rebuild your bottom end and get some 99+ PI heads and you will be making decent amounts of power.

thank you

the reson im going back to that engine is cause how much a 4.6l is if i found a parts car with a good motor i would put a 4.6 back in it just options to get it back on the road thank you for responding
