96+ no need for bump stops???

you don't need them.. the t-45 transmission has built in stops. go ask 9646gt what he thinks of bump stops now

if you do put them in. i really think you should'nt then you need too make 100 percent sure they will not move. loctite them.

thats so weird that tremec decides to wait almost 10 years to tell t45 owners that their trannies have built in stops... booo tremec
tell that to my old t-45 with a stock shifter.....if you can find it....it should be in scattered pieces at Englishtown Raceway, NJ.nakednipple said:
sure you dont NEED them, but a good shifter (notice i said GOOD) with em will save your transmition when powershifting. It is real easy to hit 2nd or 3rd gear real heard and completely bend or break off the shifter fork....bum stops will stop the handle before you do this. If you adjust them right, they are a great thing to have.
if they do have effective stops how does everyone rip through the shift forks with the stock shifter?? The people who have problems with them dont set them right. there should be a slight gap between the handle and the stop when it is in gear, not resting on it....this way you dont get undershifting (root of all those problems) and you still get the protection.
