Will a stock strut tower brace from a 96 GT mount onto a 2002 GT? Ive searched the archives already and all I saw were comments to save your money. Im getting this for free, just wanted to know if it will fit on my 02. Thanks

If I remember right(on friends 97 Cobra), the pinch weld (seam below the wiper cowl on the firewall) was extended in 2 places so the brace could bolt to that and not the firewall itself. Not sure if you could bolt it directly to the firewall or not. You have a pic of it??

No i don't. But a cobra's brace is different because it has to clear the bigger cylinder heads.

I notice no difference when mine is on or off. I wouldn't bother drilling big holes in your car. The factory holes have built in threads.....so you will have to nut and bolt yours if you choose to do it anyways.

He's right about there being a cross piece on my car that extends metal from the firewall so the brace has a deck to bolt onto
