96 T45 Question

I just purchased a stock 96 Cobra this past Monday. My 1st problem is that only two times I have really got on it shifting at about 6500 or so it would grind going into 2nd and fourth. The 2nd problem is tonight I was driving home and taking it easy cruising at about 65-70 mph I noticed the tach jump like I knocked it into neutral. Sitting on side of the road with the car running I can not push in the clutch and shift it into all gears and it wont move at all. When I have it running and have it in lets say 2nd gear you can hear the trans make normal noises like when you dont have the drive shaft hooked up or something to that nature. Im not to sure that neither problem is related but thought I would ask anybody if they knew what my problem might be. I hope to whoever reads this understands the lingo I used trying to describe my problem and I would like to thank everybody before you reply.

one > t-45 don't like to be pounded on till they warm up> and often grind when there cold
It sounds like your going to need a rebuild soon > the shifting in to gear problem is most likely the sencro's going out . the grinding is probley the main bearing's grinding because the badly worn >
there is hope . go buy four quart's os some good synthetic trans fluid and take the car for a short drive > drian the fluid from the bottom of the trans and make sure you put the plug back in good and tight > there is two ways to refill your trans. one is to pull your shifter in the car and slowlly pore the fluid back in the trans usally only holds 3.5 quarts but you can add the four full quarts safelly with out any problems it might even help you problem .
changing the fluid won't fix your trans but it will help slow down the damage till you can get it rebuilt.
