Hello all!
I am absolutely going crazy right now! I have had my car at the local ford dealership for the last week to have my 96 heads swapped for the new PI heads. Today I get a phone I talked to the service manager and he says I am missing about $750 worth of parts! What the $%&#? Does anyone know of the parts list I need to do the swap. I have the heads, intake, head changing kit and all of the gaskets and spark plugs. They are saying I need a new throttle body, a new alternator, and a whole load of other parts that I think I don't need. When I talked to the mechanic he said that the parts I need were for the bullitt intake which is what he thinks I have. I think they have the wrong list of parts. I have part number M-9424-P46. This should not be a bullitt intake. The dealership I order the parts from is not the 1 I am having install them. The dealership that sold me the parts said that all I needed was the Heads, intake, and head changing kit. The guys installing the parts are really great but I don't know what is going on here. What do I need? Someone Please help. I know that this is a pretty detailed question so hopefully one of you guys can give me a hand. I am desperate!!!!!!!!

I talked to Randy Stinchcomb at the Modular Depot to get a list of absolutely everything I'd need. He's highly respected as an expert in the swap so I trust his judgement.

These are all the parts he told me minus the heads, intake and cams.

***NOTE: This is the list he gave me when I told him I'd be using heads from a 2000 GT (Windsor block)

no you do not need all of that stuff. I bet that the ford dealership is charging you out the yin yang to do all of that.

Further Proof that "ford mechanic" and "ASE certified" doesn't mean sqwat.

Thanks for the info guys. That list is awesome. Now I need to order this stuff to get it here asap. Unfortunately i live in Canada which means i have to fly this all in. It's either that or have the car sit at the dealership for another week or two waiting for parts. The dealership that is doing the work has been really good. unfortunately they have never done this before so they are in the dark about what we needed as well. We were all so worried about having my long tube headers installed that nobody really thought about the rest of the smaller parts. We thought we had it all. It's the dealership i ordered the parts from that I am choked at. They said that all I need for the head swap was in the head changing kit. What a joke. Thanks again for the help guys. I will keep you posted with what happens with my wagon over the next few days. I hope I can get these parts asap.

Keep in mind the list I gave you is what I was told I'd need to swap a set of 2000 heads which may be different from yours, depending on the year of your donor car.

I phoned Randy myself and he gave me quote with all of the parts and part numbers I would need for my car. It was the same is the one you gave me. Thanks man. That was a life saver. This isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be yesterday. I am keeping every invoice and part number so that I can keep track of everything needed for this swap. Maybe this won't have to happen to someone else. There is a lot of stuff you don't know you have to do as you go along. You have to tap a hole in the new intake so that your stock sensors will fit in the new intake. The old manifold has two holes, the new one only has one. If you want to go with an aftermarket temp gauge you even have to tap a third whole. Thanks again!
