97 cobra rear end

hi i know im new here but ive been looking over the forums since the gf's mustang got me into them a little bit more.... i have a 97 cobra and the rear end is shot bought it that way. when you put it in gear it grinds in the rear end. so my question is what rear ends end will fit on the 97 cobra? i looked at my gf's 92 stang and it looks the same just have to swap the hubs out.

Many Ford vehicles came equipped with the 8.8 rear end. You should be able to easily find a used 8.8 from a salvage/junkyard Ford and swap them out. Or you could rebuild your current rear end...

Rebuilding the one you have now may be the best idea... When i was going to rebuild mine i was actually looking for just the differential and they wouldnt even sell me JUST the diff. They wanted some crazy amount for the whole housing. Need to just take a look and see what's going on with the current one before making any big moves
