OK, well I keep hearing everyone say I shouldn't have bought my 97 GT, that this stage in mustangs suck because of the PI and ****. So I hear that I should get a headswap and PI lower intake. Should I really so this? I mean I have raced 99-newer stangs and they didn't seam all that better. If so how much would it end up costing me to buy this stuff and get it installed?

if you bought it all new and had a shop install it near 2k. if you buy it all used and did it yourself you could do it for 600-700 bucks.

trust me, you wont get past 13.7 without some sort of h/c/i upgrade.

Yeah, unfortunately you do NEED to get the headswap done. Stock, you've got a low 15-high 14 second car. The PI swap will get you instant 13's(if you can drive).

Go whole hog and get stage 2 ported heads, aggresive cams, and LT's. You won't regret it.

hey big guy trues me on this the 99 and up stang will out run you big time. I have a 97 Vert GT and I have Svo Heads and SHM cams. And with out some type of head swap it's not a fast car . I would get used Head and cam combo for about $300-$500 bucks and call it a day. That should be your number 1 mod above all others.

I had a 98 gt and it was modded to death, and still got :owned: by 99+. I would save the money to do the heads, or trade yours in for one like I did. BTW, a cheaper option that would help is to change the gearing...that is another advantage 99+ have and it would be lot cheaper than the PI head upgrade.....
