Are tailpipes louder than turndowns, right now I have them dumped after the rear axle

Louder no. Different yes. Tail pipes will push most of the sound behind you. Not to say you won't hear it. You will it just isn't as to you.

That's what I thought, guess I'm gonna go with an slp cat back hopefully those mufflers wake it up more than the magnapacks

Many years ago we put the whole SLP kit on an 00 and it sounded great.

He had an H pipe with cats. It sounded more 5.0ish. It was a little raspy but not too bad.

Shorty headers and it was kind of loud.
