I just picked up this 97GT and was looking at the motor. It has the aluminum coolant crossover on the front of the intake. Were they like that in 97? I don't think so. I noticed the fuel lines, regulator and rail look new, hmmmm.....
What's your take on that?

sounds like it had the improved intake install under warranty. get a stamping # off of it and I can tell you if its a PI intake on Non-Pi intake.

Can you give me an idea where that # is? Can a PI intake be installed on non-PI heads? Don't seem like they could....

Thanks, Matt.

No, I bought it from a little dealer who bought it from him..... Maybe I could call the dealer and ask, but they probably won't give up any info.

somewhere up top on one of the runners, a PI intake will have a stamp # like 1W7E-9424-AB and a non Pi intake might be something like F6SE-9424-AA

Well, I guess I'd rather have this than the original.

Thanks!

Look at the first (front) runner on the intake.
If the front runner starts from the right( pass. side) its a NPI intake, if the front runner starts fron the left side ( driver side) its a PI intake...

Thanks, I did and it's a non pi intake. Just what I would have thought.
