You might want to post this in the '94/'95 5.0 section.
You're better off doing the 302 simply because the 4.6 will require a different tranny(or at least housing). The 4r70w in your car will bolt up to a 302 but not a 4.6. That said, you'd still need a computer to control the tranny.
