Alright, I have a 98 GT with a auto transmission :(
Well, I need a new one. The Hollander interchange says that only 98 fits. No other years, no other cars. Is that right? I know sometimes Hollander is wrong.
I have a chance to get a 95 Mark 8 Transmission. If the codes are the same, will the tranny fit my stang? The Mark 8 has a 4.6.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The Mark VIII tranny will work but I wouldn't downgrade to it under any circumstance. The 98 has better parts in it than that 95 does. If you need a new transmission, I would upgrade to a 99 and newer 4R70W, but you will need to keep a few things from your current tranny for the newer one to work. There is a good article on TCCOA and MODULAR DEPOT that tell you what you need to do to swap in a newer tranny.

Alright, thanks for the info.
Any idea how much a new transmission would cost? Just for a guess?
And anyone know of any good places to get one?

GreenLeaf would have them. I have seen them go from $300 - $600 for 99+ 4R70W transmissions.
