98 gt 4.6 to 87-93 5.0 swap

i have a 1998 gt and seven years later the modular motor seems a bit disapointing ( "actualy from the first time i got beat by a honda civic race car when i say race car i meen it had a big wing and muffler lol , at that point i realized that i didnt like the 4.6" ), and i dont have the cash or desire to rebuild the massive 4.6 .. so i have decided to install a real engine, a rebuilt 5.0 HO motor out of a lincoln . will my 5speed bolt up to the 5.0? motor mounts ? exaust manifolds ? any information would help. thanks

maybe you just need to learn how to drive. but seriously too much effort goes into a 5.0 swap and you'd be better off building up a 4.6 or selling your car and getting a fox or 94-95.

full PI swap and some stage II cams + 125 shot of giggle gas.

for the money you are gunna spend doing that you'd be better off doing a little work to the 4.6. it can scream with a little work

just remember, if you do the 5.0 swap you wont be legal. you cant put in an older motor.

it seems as tho everyones aginst a 5.0 swap.
and yes i know how to drive lol
this weekend i am going to put a 2001 gt rear end in my car while i rebuild mine with new bearings 373 gears and extra clutches after that i will do the pi swap but i am not very optimistic about the results. Iv seen for about 600$ i can get used pi heads and manifold , is there anything else i will need ? if this does not wake the car up i probably will do some sort of engine swap either the 5.0 or something bigger.

gears & a pi swap.........you WILL notice a difference

well i did alot of reading before i bought the 373 gears and most everyone said it was a better choice for the sohc with a 5 speed so thats what i bought

they are good gears, & if you go up in power levels you'll be set. but where you're at now 4.10 - 4.30 is ideal, imo

what size t.b. should i buy? and can i gain anything by doing away with the converters , i have stock converters and i replaced the flowmasters i had on it with a pice of pipe because i wanted it to be a little louder , would i be better off getting an offroad x pipe and putting the flowmasters back on and what type of gains could i expect to see with the pi swap , tb , and x pipe

70mm if staying N/A
75mm if going F/I

O/R xpipe will sound sick w/ the Flows. if you want, PM me your email and i will send you a video clip of my GT. w/ the PI swap, you'll be quicker than a stock 99-04 GT. add some Stage II Comp Cams or VT cams and some nitrous and you'll be set.
