OK I have a real simple but yet complex question to ask! What is so special about a 98 gt that a lot of the parts for the car are year specific? I am jsut curious if i am the onoly one who has noticed it or not!

From all the threads I read, It's the more agressive tune on the computer that added 10 more hp to the 1998's.... I'm not too sure about the differences in the computers because I did a motor swap and I'm still using the factory 1998 cpu with a 2002 PI long block. So does that mean my 1998 stang is still pushing 225 hp and 96-97 Gt's are pushing 215 even with PI motors??? I do feel more top end power with the PI motor although used with my stock 1998 cpu. So will there be a difference of swapped with a PI cpu? Can someone explain this computer thingy......?
I believe it has to do with the new model change-over because early 98's have different exhaust hangers than the later 98's. Guess that's one thing that shows an upgrade.
