99/01 Cobra problems.

What are the problems with the 99/01 Cobras? I heard from the buddy of mine that the 99 at least had power issues, and stock GT's were able to take them out. True, false? I am thinking of buying a 99/01 Cobra (probably 99 cause it is cheaper) and was wondering what I would have to deal with, and what needs to be done to fix it.

There was something wrong with the intake and the exhuast was badly designed on the 99. But there was a recall and they extrude honed the intakes and put different exhuast back on them and they were suppossed to be at 320 hp or alittle more after the fix. My brother has a 99 cobra with 8k on it and it has been fixed and the car just huals ass. A new Gt might have been able to take it before the fix but not after. The 01 doesn't have any problems. They didn't make a cobra in 2000 becuase they were fixing the 99's. MAke sure the 99 has been fixed if not you should be able to take it to ford and have them fix it.

my brother paid 19,500 for one with 8 k on it. I have seem them go for more too, i would just look around and see what you can find

That doesn't sound too bad for the mileage on the car. I am hopping to be able to get one for around $15k. Do-able?

i am not sure if it's doable, from what people say he snagged it for pretty cheap but you never know what you can find.

I saw one for 16k the week after I bought my GT.
