i was wondering if anyone here would know how to remove that little round silver grommet that hods the lock in place on the 99-04 mustang decklids. im trying to swap my decklid for one from a v6 for that spoilerless look. i think everything else should just unbolt and come right out otherwise. any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks for the VERY quick response. Your pictures are not showing up for me.

Actually, what I am doing is removing the lock and installing a rear view camera. I know I dont need it...but it's cool and camera was free. Can I take out the metal bracket without permanently damaging the trunk? I see two rivets. One that is attaching th cylinder to the bracket and one that MIGHT BE attaching the bracket to the trunk lid. Am I right?
