99 cobra 17X8 with Lincoln front rotors

Yes, I did a search but no luck.

I'm aware of all the other conversions but I'm going the cheap route for now
I want 99 Cobra wheels.

My main concern is:

Since i'm going to need a 1/2 spacer between the Lincoln rotor and the wheel(because the rotor is too tall), does this mean that the wheel is going to stick out of the fender well? Or will it be flush?
I want the wheel to be Flush!

Anyone have front side view pics of how much the wheel/tire stick out, please post.
Thanks

Here's my '97 Cobra wheels mounted on Lincoln rotors (when i ran them) with no spacer at all. Judge for yourself if you can go another 1/2"

I know that your style wheel and other wheels that have a center cap that cover the lug nuts will fit the Lincoln rotors with no problem.

You know how there are some wheels that will not work with Lincoln rotors unless you use a 1/2 spacer?
You need to use a 1/2 spacer not just to clear the center cap.
The Lincoln's rotor "hat" is so tall it will not go all the way into the wheel (ie 99 Cobra)
Thats why you need a spacer with longer wheel studs

I know exactely what I need to do to mount these 99 Cobras but I do NOT know what the end results will look like.
I hope I'm making sense.
Thanks

I got my info from "Diskbrakes-R-US". I wish this site had pictures of the different style conversion.

That's why i posted the picture. The '99 Cobra wheels have the same offset and size as my wheels. I wanted to show you how they would look if bolted flat on the Lincoln rotors. This way you could judge if moving them out another 1/2" would fit.

The thing is, the front will now be wider than the rear. A good way to compromise this is to use the Sn95 style rear setup to push the rear out 0.75" each side.

I just went outside and looked at my front wheel. I have '95 spindles so my offset is the same as with the lincoln rotors. If i pushed my wheel out 0.5", it would definitely hit the fender lip if i hit a bump. Since my car is lowered it would happen pretty often.

Another thing to consider is if you add 1/2" spacer, you gotta think of the entire travel of the wheel side to side. The biggest prob for the 79-90 cars is the tire hitting the rear of the fender liner. With the wheel pushed out 1/2" it will swing into the liner even more when you cut that wheel inside.

I see what you mean about tire hitting the fender lip.

My 245 50 15 is close to the fender lip already tire diameter is 24.7"(see pic)
I might have to reinstall my spring isolators to get an extra 1" clearance from tire to fender lip.
The 245 45 17 is 25.6" !!

Think I might have to order that 99 Cobra wheel and test fit it myself.
I don't want it to stick out like that other Cobra style wheel pic below!

As long as it mounts properly to the rotor I could always do something with other tire contact issues?

What a PITA!
But i like it!
It'll be a good challenge!
