99 GT engine cuts out going down the street

I have done no recent mods. 110,000 miles on odometer Engine just cuts out. I can start it back up. No codes. Any ideas?

Have you ruled out the IAC yet? If you still have the original
you probably need a new one. It will start to get worse and worse.

any more details? Starts up and runs perfect until it randomly happens again? Cuts out and will idle but not rev up? Happened once or all the time?

My car would run and drive just fine, but randomly cut off, no warning at all, just dies. It would also start right back up.

Things I replaced camshaft positioning sensor, IAC, cleaned MAF, Fuel pressure regulator and I would check the alternator.

Have the battery tested, and check the terminals to make sure that they aren't loose in any way.

I cleaned the MAF and replaced the IAC. Still cuts out. I guess I'll have the O2 and other sensors checked.

I had the same thing with my car, the alternator grounded out a melted the wires going to the power distribution box. Thats my guess. Go get you alt and battery tested. I figured out my problem because the alt was putting out 0

Check the computer. It might have a thermal failure or simply connectors are not making good contact.

I can't believe it was the alternator. Its been in the car for about 10,000 miles. It was new oem!!

I had the same problem. It was my alternator. Do You have problems starting it up and if so does it backfire.

Final post: engine still cut out after alternator install. I knew it had to be spark because it starts back up right away. Turned out it was the battery. I had an Optima red top in it. battery was 5 years old. It was shorting. I know, I didn't beleive it either.
