Im currently looking into buying/trading for a new car. Im looking at a few options and this blk/blk 99 GT (35th anniversary edition) is one of them, and i was wondering if there are any problems with the 99 GT that i should know about?

Factory production problems? Bad trans? etc.
Correct me if im wrong but the 99Gt's had the T45 correct? They didn't switch over until late 2001. Also, i knew the 99 Cobra's had exhaust/Factory Recall problems, so i am wondering if the GT's had something similar, etc.
Let me know, thanks guys.

Just the parking brake recall on like 1988+ manuals. Other than that, I've had only my seatbelts replaced under warranty (they wouldn't retract right).

Everything else has been problem free. If I had a choice though, I'd get 01+ since they have a few extra creature comforts (nets, better cup holders, boot over the parking brake, etc).

i have a 35th ann. L.E.

there was a recall on a wiring harness issue. other than that. i haven't had a problem that wasn't caused by me. like by adding a blower.

the 99's do have the much less troublesome T45.

As someone already said , there was a recall on the e-brake handle, and a check on the harness going down to the trans in the engine area. The IACs are problematic on all years (ask). Power window(s) the only other weak spot. Ask to see maintenance records and/or bring it to a tech familiar with these cars. good luck and enjoy
