How close is the passanger seat to the door panel compared to the drivers? Is it real close, like 1/2"? Is it closer then the drivers side?
I took a budy for a ride, (not a small person) and got on it real good, got sideways also. No one has riddin in the car since I did the 4V swap. On my trip home (by myself) I noticed a squeak coming from the pass side. What I found was the seat was up against the door panel. At first I thought the seatback or the bolts holding the back to the seat bottom got bent. What it turned out to be (I guess) was on of the seat tracks skipped a tooth and the seat was setting crooked. I ran the seat all the way foward and it seemed to straighten it out. But for some reason the pass seat is real close to the door (the hole seat). Just wondering if it got tweeked or if other Stangs are the same way. The car pulls pretty hard, I would hate to think the seat can't take it. Let me know what your seats look like (Premium leather if it makes a diff.). Sorry for the novel.

Lazer,

At last someone else who has a mustang built on a Friday. I have a 03 GT Leather, Premium and I also noticed my Passenger seat sits closer to the door than the drivers side. I don't think I can my fingers between the seat and door thats how close it is. My seatbelt buckle on the pass. side rattles against the door and I often have to reach across and adjust it.

That's how close mine is also. I was pissed, I thought I was going to have to buy a new leather seat. . I wanted to keep the stock seats because I'd like to upgrade to the FR-500 seats covers from soft trim. I might try loosening the seat and see if I can move it.

Thanks, but not under warranty anymore. I'll check into it though, maybe there is a TSB out on it (or was that the TSB #)

That would be cool, if they wont cover the TSB outside of the warranty I'd just buy the parts and fix it myself. Thanks.

You do realize that the pass side is narrower than the driver's side, right?

Thanks, I'll have to look into that.

Yes, but there is room to move the seat away from the door, a 1/4" or so is all it needs.
