i was working on a 99-up mustang today and i noticed that the interior is pretty close to my 98 gt. i really like the way the gauges look and i was wondering if they work with 98. i know the milage is digital on the 99-up but will the needles work correctly? does anybody know? thanks in advance.

On 99-up, the gauges are all "digital", and that includes the speedometer. On your 98, the speedometer is fed by the ol' mechanical rotating speedometer cable.

They are different, but you would be better off just buying a overlay for your current faces.Changing from mechanical to digital would probably be a huge PITA.

What is different? do you have a pic. I know the odometer is different but I thought that was all.

The colors of the gauge faces are slightly different and I'm pretty sure the needles on the newer ones are more red in color.

There are some subtle differences, but probably the biggest is the difference in color. The stock ones are the color of the bezel around my gauges. The 98 had a solid black which tends to look a bit cheaper IMHO.The blinker lights are different too. They are an outline of an arrown opposed to a solid arrow.Sorry I don't have a stock pic from before the new faces.

Now that you mention it, the turn arrows are solid on my car where your are an outline, I had forgotten about that. And those needles are pretty red, and mine are kind of orange.
