Well the u-joints went out in the stang about a month ago causing the driveshaft to go haywire then it busted a hole in the tranny. Went and picked up a tranny today and there were no 94-95 T-5s. The guy sold me a 99 V-6 tranny and swore that it would bolt up and could handle just as much power. Whenever I went to switch the speedo gears to be geared for 3.73, I noticed that it wasn't gear driven, but more like a magnet type setup?? Is there a way I can get the car to correctly show the right speed on the speedometer or will the thing even work at all?? Also, anyone live around me who has a Tweecer to alter the computer to accept the manual tranny. It lags sometimes from where it seems to be trying to shift. Is it possibly for a dealership to do it??

You can use the tranny.. I have 2 cars in my town that I installed them in and they work great.. Your correct on the fact they do run on a magenet setup for speed... You can install a speedo gear on the tailshaft and go from there if you would like or you can get a 99+ Speed sesnor and run a SpeedCal.

I did try to install the gear driven speedo but couldnt figure it out. I even was going to use the rear tranny housing off the old tranny, but it still wouldnt work because there needed to be a hole in the shaft itself. Can you tell me of a way that I might not of thought of? Where can you get the sensors and speedcal at if you want to run just off the magnetic type sensor??

Now I have a whole new problem. I was told that the bellhousing and all from the 99 V-6 would work with my 302. The bellhousing bolts up fine, BUT now the starter cannot engage the flywheel??? This is the only problem I'm having now besides the speedo, but I'm not as worried about that. I went and took my starter to compare it with the 99 V-6 starter and they are identical as I thought they would be. Can anyone tell me if the V-6 had a larger flywheel or maybe the bellhousing is shaped slightly different??

Why you can't use the V6 Bellhousing is because it uses a 164tooth flywheel as the 5.0L uses a 157tooth... Its more expensive to fine a 164tooth flywheel thats correct than it is to just get the correct bellhousing...
