So I just picked up a 1999 3.8 v6 as a project car. I got it pretty cheap because the ladie thought the transmission was completely shot. I put about 2 quarts of the wrong atf in it and it got me to Walmart a few miles away where i added 4 more quarts of the right stuff. Now first and second gear work great but 3rd and 4th won’t grab very well still. I’m hoping I just need to drain and refill correct fluids before buying a new transmission.
