Fort those of you who have done a 5 lug conversion, which route did you take? Would it be easier to buy a kit from 50 resto or just get a donor sn95. I could get a donor car for cheaper but would it be better to just buy a kit. I've done some research but I cant decide, any help would be appreciated. Also what size brakes come on the sn95 cars? Thanks.

IMO If you are going to take the time to do it, might as well UPGRADE the brakes with the later model 99+ SN95 dual piston V6 or GT brakes. The new 5 lug kit(usually just rotors), unless you go with one of the $$$ Baer, Cobra or other kits, will not do anything to improve the performance. The braking is noticiably better on my car, and I hope to make it even better with a simple Cobra front brake swap in the next few weeks.

As far as brake size, the 94-98 had single piston 66mm pistons, the 99+ base &GT had 44mm dual pistons all with 11" rotors. Of course the Cobras have 13" rotors with 38MM dual pistons (94-98) and 40mm (99+)

See Matt's page for more info if you haven't already:http://svo73mm.cjb.net

You can piece together your own kit and save some money.

I used new Bullitt Calipers front and rear, ranger length axles, North cobra brackets, 94 Mustang spindles, 93 Cobra MC..

And a side note.... I think my '89 stops better than my '01 Cobra!

Here's another site with great info... http://www.duggerracing.com/techtips/brakes/index1.shtml
