A 65 fastback for me

Spent most of the day welding the lower parts of the torque boxes and trimming out the last little bits of the floor,i hope to set the floor in tomorrow and mark it for plug welds . I still need to blast around the edges and primer before the floor goes in for good .

I put the floor in ,marked the bracing ,took the floor out and drilled all the weld holes. Putting it back in was just much fun as putting it in the first time . I managed to get the passenger side all welded up ,i only got the floor brace welded on driver side before i wound up with company and had to quit . Should have it all welded tomorrow and seat boxes in as well.

I still have a little welding at the wheel tub to the floor but i will do that when it is on the rotisserie ,other than that the floor is in .
The passenger side door has to come up about 1/16 of an inch and the fender needs to go down in the back about 1/16 of an inch . There will need to be some gap work as well .
Driver side just needs the one point on the door gaped and it is good .
Soon as i remodle an old rotisserie i have here it will get flipped and do the finish welding under side

A familiar face, I haven't played the Mustang game in quite a few years and this place has seemed to fade away a bit. Used to be 100 posts a day. Nice little FB. I see the addiction is still strong.:) The only Mustang in my life now is a 67 Coupe my father was building before he died. He got it about half done body wise. But it's still a little low on the list. I'm building a '66 F250 very modified, It will be an air ride heavy half ton with a 390, Advance OD, 4 speed and 4wd when it grows up. I stopped in here because I just bought a '65 Falcon in pretty nice shape and there are no good Falcon Forums, so I figured this is the next best thing. IMG_20211213_103855076_HDR.jpg

That's a very nice car! I think if I ever finish my '66 coupe and have time for another build that I'd like to do something less-traveled. Either a different Ford or even something like a Studebaker if I could get my hands on one.

I've had too many Mustangs, and they're all over the car shows. And as an added bonus some of the less collectable cars are cheaper. I paid 6K for the Falcon and I just found a Econoline pickup in pretty good shape for 3K, I'm going to look at it Sunday.

Oh ,mid engine build!
Yes this will be my first, I feel like a virgin.

:D It's pretty clean , got a little rot along the rockers, and 2 small spots, maybe 2-1/2" on the 2 rear corners, everything is low enough I can probably just paint a strip around the bottom and use the crinckle clear over it. I haven't even got the VIN on it yet so I'm not sure what is under it. I actually found the truck a year ago but didn't have the room and didn't need the extra project, but you know how this addiction is, it's tough to fight. It is a 3 on the tree, I was thinking a nice 4 on the tree would be cool.

I had to make it roll so i could move it out of the way . I bought a 2005 Mustang with a blown up motor ,i have a low mile wrecked 2007 for the motor donor.
I only had this ugly wide tires to put on it ,do you think i could get away with running these , they only stick out 3 inches haha ,

Pretty sure my buddy in HS was running the same rear stance. Same paint job too.
