Never had this problem before I let the car set for 3 years. I recently had a new moter and trans put in as well as all new a/c plumbing minus the under dash lines. Now no matter what setting I put the a/c it kinda of does it own thing, sometimes brought the vents sometimes through the defrost but most of the time it's on the floor. It still blows cold but for the life of me I can't figure this out I have replace the switch panel with no luck. Any idea how I can find the leak or the problem? Thanks

so its not just in the 2 a/c settings is in all mode settings? could b a linkage problem. might be binding somewhere.

How can I test the vacuum lines for leaks any idea?

vacuum gauge. u can get one at most auto part stores. check for vacuum at the head and trace it through the system like an electrical issue. your vacuum reading is like a voltage reading. if u have 20 in the the start of the line u should have it at the end. if there is a complete loss there is a break or open if it is low the line may be pinched, or obstructed. just keep it simple and look at one thing at a time. break it down, don't look at the entire system it can get confusing. each line is color coded just follow them. the problem is that the lines are run through the dash and can b a pain to follow. good luck tho hope I helped

another way is to get a hand vacuum pump which will also work as a gauge for testing, but u can apply vacuum to each line leading away from the control head. each line should hold vacuum. if the needle drops or wont pull vacuum u know the line that has a leak

No vacuum to the HVAC vacuum control motor is default defrost. The surest way to test for vacuum leaks is a smoke test. The better shops will have the equipment to do this test.

Did a vacuum test today and all for lines held a pressure? Any other ideas?

Something is crossed or there's a vacuum issue with the engine? But this sounds to be definitely a vacuum issue.
