Sounds like they can't fix it right if they've tried 5 times already.
Your pressure depends on whether or not it's running. If the AC is running the low side pressure should be around 40, that would be throwing out some cold air. If the AC is not running and you put the guages on it depends on the outside tempurature. On an 80 degree day it would be about 90psi on both high and low sides, but that doesn't matter. I would need to know what both the high and low pressures are while it's running to tell you any more. We're just guessing without more information.

Two kinds of work I never do myself are exhaust and a/c. Exhaust because it is too hard and exhaust shops do not charge much and get it done the first time. A/C because it is too complex and requires too much specialized knowledge and too many specialized tools.
