I just bought a 89 5.0 the other day and I made the guy hook the A/C back up before I would buy it. Now when I turn on the A/C on max A/c I only get air comming from the defroster vents? Any idea how I might fix this? Also when the A/C is off and the compressor is suppose to be idling it will sometimes catch like it does when it is turned on, any ideas? Thanks for your help.

You have a broken or missing vacuum line for the A/C controls. The A/C uses vacuum to open/shut the flapper doors that direct the airflow.

See the following website for some help from Tmoss (diagram designer) & Stang&2Birds (website host) for help on 88-95 wiring http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine
