a/c problem

hello!!! im new to this club....my name is reed and i own a 2000 mustang,
when im driving it, lets say up a hill the air all of a sudden switchs to the defrost....and it takes about 2-3 mins... to switch back to the vents???????
 
seat belt...alarm...noise

thanks guys.....another problem i have too is with the seat belt. i replaced the seat belt due to the other one being cut...and now since i put it in the alarm goes off thinking that i dont have the belt on....so for about a month i've been driving around with that stupid noise going off and the light on the dash goes off...with the seat belt icon.....is there a reset that im soupsed to do or what cuz its anoying the hell out of me.......
 
Wow that sounds really familiar. I just had the same problem with mine except mine would come out of the defrost all the time when I tried to use the air. There was a big vacuum leak from one of the hoses but I got it repaired and it has been perfect ever since. I'm not sure how you would find out where the leak is by yourself but I took it to a friend who owns a mechanic shop and it didn't cost that much to fix. Good luck.

It's usually a very easy fix. All you really have to do is trace hoses. I had a leak on my 96 Stang and it only cost me $5 to fix.
