I'm trying to figure out what is up with my A/C-

What is this? I'm referring to the blue piece of electronics, bottom left of pic:

I shorted the low pressure switch and the compressor runs-

BUT- when I check the pressure, it is reading WELL Within normal...is the low pressure switch bad? If I replace the low pressure switch, would it vent the R134a to atmosphere?

Another question-

This elbow is cracked:

How do I ditch this upper/lower intake and throttle body setup altogether, and what is the best way to do it?

(yes, there is a vortech being camera shy on the bottom left ;) )

TIA

its hard to see, but it might be your combination line. im not good at identifying something so close, i prefer a whole engine pic then an upclose. im jsut wierd like that. as for the intake and tb, go with an edelbrock performer 5.0 or a trick flow street heat. add a bbk 70 mm tb to it and youll be loving it

I forget what its called but I have an extra one if you want it. I can post later if you want to know exactly what its called. I have the shop manual at home. I just replaced all my A/C components. And no, it wont vent if you remove it, it has a valvestem in side it just like your tire. It will make a little noise but wont vent. you may need to replace the O-ring though.

The little "blue piece" is another pressure switch. The power comes from the first pressure switch that u jumped then goes through the second one "blue piece" and then to the compressor. If u noticed u have a purple wire going into the first switch and a blue/yellow wire leaving the switch then that wires goes to the second switch. I will post a more detailed version a little later.
