A/C Replacement

Wanted to know if anyone recently replaced their a/c compressor and could give me some instructions, or some things to take note of. I have the new compressor along with the drier. the old compressor seized up

I know plenty of us have taken them off.
What do you need to know? It is very simple and straight forward to install.

well my good friend is a mechanic and we were debating whether or not we need to replace the a/c condensor or not. We think since the compressor went bad by not replacing the condensor will lead to crap getting into the new compressor resulting that one to break.

You should definitely replace your condenser. Even if corrosion doesn't hurt your new compressor, it could clog your lines. You might want to replace your thermostatic expansion valve or have it checked(or orifice tube if thats what our cars have...I cant remember.) If either of these is defective or clogged it will either keep your compressor constantly on or starve it.

ALSO, make sure you put more oil in when you recharge your system, or more problems will occur.
