A couple questions for my dad

Hey 5.0 stangers,

My dad has a 86 GT with a couple issues that he hasn't been able to get resolved. I told him I post them here on stangnet because he isn't a big computer user.

The first issue is he has a jerking at lower rpms. It isn't a consistant issue but happens say when you are rolling up to a stop sign, or just at 20mph in 1st and 2nd gear. 1500RPM's seems to be the problem area. Any help would be appreciated!

Next problem is where EGR gasket has anti-freeze fluid seeping from the bottom of the gasket. It is not enough seepage to drip but it pools up at the bottom of the gasket. The concern is could the anti-freeze get into the motor from the EGR plate?

the anti-freeze wont get into the motor by dripping on the outside..you intake,valve covers,etc have gaskets to keep water out oil in.but if your egr cooler is leaking water inside the housing it will be going into your intake..then in and out of you cylinders, no big deal but may cause your plugs to misfire, and if it pools in there and you get a slug of water it could be a bad thing. so here is what I would do ..take of the egr cooler off(its right behind the throttle body) it is fairly easy to do and replace the gaskets.
should only take like a hour to do.
