Okay I got my car running and ideling right, but while under boost I have read that the A/F ratio should be like 3 bars into the green. Well, mine just hits the green most of the time. While every now and then it will go three to four bars into the green. Is this a problem?? If so how do I fix it??

Ohhhhkaaaayy......

What car do you have?
What engine?
What mods?

More importantly, what A/F gage are you using? If it's the type that taps into your stock sensor, then it's no more accurate than your stock sensor. Your stock sensor is only slightly accurate. It just switches between rich and lean based on 14.7:1 being stoichometric. That's all: just rich or lean and little else. Most factory cars go rich at high rpm/high load as a safety measure. If you don't have black plugs, poor mileage, or oil that smells like gas, then don't sweat it.

Okay I have 2.3T out of a 88 TC in a 89 LX Hatch. Only mod is the front mount IC. The gauge is made by autometer and it does tap into the O2 sensor. So your saying there is nothing really to worry about??

The 2.3Ts go really rich when the boost comes anyway. If you don't have any of the problems I mentioned previously, then be glad it's rich and not lean. The only way to know how rich is with a wideband.

It should switch back and forth between rich and lean at idle/cruise...if it doesn't, your not getting as good of gas mileage as you should.

As for what it should read at wide open throttle...hard to say, some read full rich, others like mine only read 1 bar into the green...doesn't tell you anything.

those narrow band gauges are useless...just fun to watch the lights....I wouldnt use any less than a wide band to tune...

How do I fix this because when I am maintaing a stedy speed it switches between lean and half way through stoich.
