Oh the joys of taking one of these apart ! You have a large assortment of screws and bolts someone has replaced over the years . Keep your whole tool box beside you ,you will find many different size bolts nuts and screws that do not belong there. There is flat head screws ,some way to big ,some to small ,philip head ,and even torx head ! Dont forget the metric wrenches ,yep metric! And i love it when you find the fenders have been welded on ,good thing these were not .
Got the front fenders off after a good long morning ,now i can fit the driver side door

Now we have to trim out our passenger side door ,the out side is trashed ,but the inner shell is in very good shape . The first thing is to gut it out ,the new door skin is on its way

Easiest way to get the skin off is to grind the outer edge ,it will let you know when you grind enough by popping open ,there is a couple of spot welds inside below the wind wing that has to be drilled and the skin will fall offit may not look like it but the inner shell is in very good shape ,i will sand blast it in the morning and get it in primer before the new skin comes in.

My doors aren't that bad, but they have a few dents. I wonder if new skins wouldn't be a bad idea. It would give me the chance to get all the junk out of them that's stuck in there.

Depends on just how bad they are ,if nothing major i would use them . Sheet metal is very hard to get right now and it may get worse . I have a 65 fast back with the front end wiped off and i cant get new metal ,i would use a clip from a coupe if i could find a decent one

It looks pretty solid ,just a couple of bad places in the floor pans ,the trunk area is excellent. I get that outer sheet metal off ,blasted and primer it will look great

A nice clean door shell ,i didnt try to blast it shiny clean because i didnt want to warp it ,it has a bit of light brown primer in places but no rust ,the inside is just as clean . Now to hang it up for a shot of primer inside and out
