A gallon of water every other day and no leaks?

I've been putting a gallon of water in my radiator every two days or so and it keeps going down. I originally filled it to the top, bounced it around and hand spun the water pump. I had to tear the thing down before to look for a water in the oil problem. NOW, it's all buttoned back up, but the water is going somewhere, but it's not coming out the oil pan, and i'm not seeing it in the cylendars (checked by taking out plugs and inserting a small roll of paper towerl). Could it be that it really needs 20 gallons of water?

try changing your radiator cap. it might be evaperating out!

The other side of it maybe it is leaking only once up to temp? My radiator leaks pretty good in the winter when it is below 20'...

Coolant leaks are hard to track down on a cold engine. Have you tired looking for a leak while the engine is running and at operating temperature? Sounds like at that loss rate it should be pissing out somewhere, but then again you'd see alot of steam and/or a large puddle. As mentioned above, check to see if steam comes out the rad cap when its running and hot. Perhapse its coming out the back of a cylinder head and leaking onto the bell housing where you can't see it

can't run the car right now, intake is off. I could throw it back together, but the reason it's apart in the first place is becasue water was getting into the oil. I just did new gaskets, includeing timing chain etc. and I want to make sure no water gets in before i put oil back in. No puddles on the floor anywhere, and i have the oil plugs out with a pan underneath to see if anything comes out. All i have on right now is the heads, lower, and exhaust (and turbo). I have to flush out any water before i can hook it back up due to the turbo.

Holy crap! So, if I understand you correctly, the coolant is just kinda disappearing when you leave it sit for a couple days? 20 gallons is insane, it should only take 4 to fill the entire system. Are you sure its not finding its way inside the cab through a leaking heater core somehow? I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere. Good luck!

if it's getting into your oil then you need to replace your head gaskets! especially since your running boost, I would bet my paycheck that it was the head gaskets!

also inspect your timing cover! there could be a crack/hole in there somewhere allowing water to seap into there

I"m almost thinking of getting copper gaskets or something. Either that or a nice set of AFR 185's, just to rule out the heads.
