i had the steering column replaced and stock cc plates put in. now the car doesn't rattle any more over bumps and the steering wheel is tight again

When you say steering column what part do you mean? Are you talking interior?

yes, the interior part. a bearing had worn out and the wheel was extremely loose

you put stock caster/camber plates on why?

way back when, i had coil overs and cc plates installed. the coilovers were inexpensive ones from mod mustang racing, and the cc plates were maximum motorsports ones i bought used from a guy here on stangnet. immediately i had a terrible low speed rattle that was incredible annoying. then my motor blew up and it took a year to get on the road again. finally, about a month ago, i decided i couldn't take the rattle anymore, so assuming it was the chaepo coil overs, i had them taken out and had springs put back in. the rattle didn't change at all. so i figured it must be the cc plates. since i was getting a steering column from a junkyard, i decided to also get some cc plates. and since i am not lowered much at all anymore, i don't really need the extra adjustability from the aftermarket plates.

sure enough, putting in the other plates took the rattle away
